
Terps Battle UVa For ACC Title

Cary, N.C. - Top-seeded Maryland will take on Virginia in the ACC Tournament finals Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. The game will be televised live on Comcast SportsNet, Fox Sports South and The Sunshine Network.
Transportation to the game is available for faculty, staff and students. Buses will depart from the Student Union at 5:30 a.m.; 100 seats are available. Nearly 50 students traveled by bus for Friday's match to support the Terps against NC State.
The Terps (17-2), the tournament's top seed, advanced to their second consecutive ACC final with a 2-1 win over NC State on Friday evening. Virginia (9-9-1) defeated Wake Forest, 1-0, to make its fifth straight appearance in the finals.
Notable...
* Maryland has made the ACC finals, going 2-1 in its other appearances. Maryland has played Virginia in all of its finals appearances.
* In Maryland's two other title runs, the Terps defeated both NC State and Virginia along the way.
* The Terrapins are 3-0 on television this year, including a 1-0 win over Virginia on Oct. 31.
* Maryland has never repeated as ACC champions. The only team to repeat as champions is Virginia; the Cavaliers won five consecutive titles from 1991-95 before Maryland ended their run in 1996.

* A.J. Herrera's assist against the Wolfpack Friday night was the 21st of his career, moving him into a tie for sixth place on Maryland's all-time list.
