There was a period of time in which Maryland wide receiver Jeshaun Jones thought his long-awaited return to the field might be delayed another year, as the coronavirus pandemic put the Big Ten football season in jeopardy.

Head Coach Michael Locksley, sophomore linebacker Cortez Andrews and redshirt sophomore wide receiver Jeshaun Jones spoke to the media on Thursday about the team's first day in pads, the progression of the offense and defense and continuing to build and develop the team as they work towards their first game at Northwestern on October 24.

Wide receiver Dontay Demus Jr. had a sensational sophomore season in 2019, tallying 41 receptions for 625 yards and six touchdowns. Demus' six touchdowns were the most by a Maryland sophomore since DJ Moore in 2016. The Washington D.C. native has caught a pass in 15 straight games and has two 100-yard receiving days.
