On Oct. 17, ahead of a couple of future Maryland football’s nationally-televised games on FOX, some members of the studio came to College Park to film a tour of Jones Hill-House, the football practice facility. Sixth-year wideout Jeshaun Jones was tasked with hosting the tour to the FOX crew, which was highlighted by WWE and entertainment star Big E.
For Jones, the experience was a memorable one.
“Big E is a huge personality and their team was great to work with,” he said. “We had a lot of fun. Sometimes things like that can be a little awkward, but it was super easy and fun with them. There was a lot of energy there. I’m really excited to see how it turns out when they post it.”
When the opportunity was first presented to him, Jones jumped at it.
“Immediately I was just like, ‘Of course.’ It’s such a big media outlet with a big presence that it was pretty much a no-brainer.”

Jones, who is working on his Master’s of Professional Studies in Technology Entrepreneurship, didn’t know it at first, but the tour would also serve as an NIL opportunity for him—a major added bonus.
“I would’ve done it just to help out and to get some exposure for myself and for my team. But getting compensated was just the cherry on top. It’s an honor that I was able to do that. And opportunities like these are one of the biggest reasons why I came back to Maryland for my sixth season.”
From Jones’ point of view, the facility’s throne room was the biggest hit of the day.
“I think they definitely loved the Throne Room. I think they were really impressed with that. It’s cool how we can go in there, our recruits can go in there and sit in there with a uniform on.”

Before the crew went on the tour, Jones sat down with the hosts to talk about his experiences in the facility and what the place means to him.
“I talked about how our facility gives us that extra edge. There’s so many things in there like sport science, nutrition and sports medicine that put us in position to be successful on and off the field, especially with academics right down the hill. I just told them that this facility gives us so many new opportunities.”
“We have a lot of bells and whistles, which is great for recruiting. But it’s the people inside of it who really make it go and make it into such a great place. I really wanted to emphasize that and tell everyone that this is one of the best facilities in the country.”
