2023 Commencement: Terp Reflections

I’m so grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of the Terp family. Representing Maryland on and off the court is something I will always value and be proud of. The support from each department here is unmatched and I am so thankful to everyone who has been a part of my journey and helped prepare me for my next chapter.

It was always my dream to come to the University of Maryland, both my parents went here. It is a prestigious school, one of the top public schools in the country. Coming here as a student athlete I knew it was going to be a challenge, but all the resources that Maryland provided were a tremendous help and I couldn't be more blessed.

My time at Maryland has been more than special. Getting the chance to compete at the highest field hockey level and earn a business degree from the Smith school is an honor. I have met my best friends and made so many connections to help me continue growing to be the best person I can be.

I’m thankful for the opportunity to be a student-athlete at the University of Maryland. I’ve established friendships and family over the years, and I hope that culture can continue for years to come.

Graduating from Maryland means that I'll have a vast network to help me as a post-graduate because we are forever a Terp. My last four years here have been incomparable and I'm excited to take the lessons that I've learned through victories and hardships to the next chapter of my life. Thank you is an understatement to the team, the team around the team, and my family for helping me get through undergrad.

Maryland gave me the opportunity to grow my game and compete against the best players in the country. I will never take that for granted. I have met people that I call family while receiving a quality education. I am very thankful to graduate this spring. Thank you, Maryland.

Maryland has made me into the best version of myself. I couldn’t have imagined after moving alone to a new country that’d I’d end up spending six years at the University of Maryland. I am lucky in my time here to have been a part of a national championship, get my masters, and be a part of a program that helped me grow, apply discipline, and befriend some of the coolest people I know. I hope to continue to share and represent all the values Maryland has taught me out in the world. Thank you Maryland and go Terps!

I had an amazing four years as a student-athlete at Maryland. I have developed relationships that will last a lifetime and memories I’ll never forget. I couldn’t be more appreciative of my teammates and coaches and am proud to earn a degree from the University of Maryland.

Throughout my time at Maryland, I have been so lucky to train alongside great athletes who have become my best friends. I am so grateful for the coaching staff and trainers for all of their support and dedication to helping me become a better runner and person. I will truly miss getting the opportunity to represent this team and school.

Coming to the University of Maryland was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Even though it was only for a year, I felt so at home here. I was able to walk away with a Master’s degree from the Robert H. Smith School of Business and I got a chance to play lacrosse at one of the best programs in the country. Most importantly, I have gained so many new friendships that I will have for the rest of my life. I am honored to be a Terp.

I will be forever grateful for the opportunity to obtain an education and play college golf at the University of Maryland. I am confident my experiences as a student-athlete will serve me well in all facets of life, and I will always be a proud Terp.

I am extremely grateful for the opportunities and friendships that Maryland has provided me. I am also grateful for all the coaches and athletic staff who have believed in me and helped me every step of the way. I am sad to say goodbye, but grateful for the journey. Thank you, Maryland Track and Field.

My four years at Maryland have been my favorite chapter so far. I’ve learned so much from my teammates and coaches every day. I’ve learned about not just the game but about myself and have broadened my perspectives. I’ve gained another family and have learned what it really means to play with Maryland Pride. I will always be grateful for these four years and to everyone who made it possible for me. Once a Terp, always a Terp!

I am so grateful to be able to live out my dream of playing lacrosse at the University of Maryland. In doing so, I have formed everlasting friendships and earned two degrees, while starting to pursue a masters. I have learned how to push myself further than I ever thought I could. I couldn’t have done it without the unwavering support of my family. GO TERPS!

I’m very grateful for the opportunity I was given at The University of Maryland. It challenged me to grow on the field, and in the classroom. After 3.5 years at UMD I’ve developed lifelong skills that I’ll utilize for the rest of my life. I’ve also met another set of brothers which I’ll have by my side till the day I die. Thank you to everyone who made this dream of mine possible. Go Terps!

Being a student-athlete at the University of Maryland has been the experience of a lifetime. It has pushed me to my very limits and challenged me not only athletically but academically as well. I am eternally grateful to Coach Tillman for the opportunity to better myself in every facet of my life. I am not only leaving UMD with two degrees, dozens of relationships that will last a lifetime, and a national championship, but with a blueprint on how to live my life. Terps forever! #BeTheBest.

The last four years representing my state as a Terp and competing at the highest collegiate level have been unimaginable. Maryland has given me a huge support system, lifelong friendships, and the confidence to enter the next chapter of my life. I’m so grateful for every person I’ve met and experience I’ve had here, and I cannot wait to wear that red, black, and gold for one more year!

Graduating from the University of Maryland has been something I have dreamed about for so long. I’m so honored to have been able to compete and represent a school that means so much to me. I feel nothing but gratitude to the school that allowed me to live out my dream as a college gymnast and grant me a degree from one of the Nations top public schools.

To have been a Terp for the past year has been incredible. I'm extremely grateful to coach Katie and coach Ruth for letting me be part of the team and all the other staff who helped me day in and day out. I'm thankful for my teammates who all taught me something new this year and for how we grew closer as the year went on.

Getting my master’s degree from the Robert H Smith School of Business was an incredible opportunity that will prove invaluable to my future career. I have been able to make incredible connections with professors, advisors, and my overall cohort that I can leverage down the road. All of this was made even more special by being able to play as a graduate student athlete on the highly talented and successful women’s basketball team.

When I think about the last four years at UMD, I remember the countless memories with my teammates both on and off the field but also all I have learned and accomplished throughout my academic journey here. Pursing a double major in marketing and management while balancing the rigorous schedule of a Division 1 athlete has prepared for my future and whatever challenges may come. I am grateful for everyone I have met along the way that have inspired, motivated, and shaped me into the person I am today. I am excited to continue this adventure as the best is yet to come.

I'm so grateful for all that the University of Maryland has provided not only with the opportunity to compete for such a prestigious university but also receiving a degree that will help guide me through the rest of my life. I have learned many life lessons inside and outside of the gym that has helped me develop into who I am now. These past four years have been nothing short of amazing and I can't wait to enjoy one more year here in College Park.

Since I was young, it has been a dream of mine to play lacrosse for the Terps. Being able to live that dream has been an incredibly fulfilling experience. I am grateful for the opportunities that have allowed me to form many great friendships and grow academically and personally. I am thankful to have been part of Maryland athletics and a part of something bigger than myself.

My time here at Maryland means more than anything I could put into words. Graduating from such a prestigious university allows me to feel confident in putting my best self forward with life after college. Being apart of Maryland Football was the highlight of my time in college. The connections I made, the skills I learned, and the memories I made will last a lifetime.

As a University of Maryland student-athlete, I was afforded the opportunity to study at a world class institution and wrestle in the Big Ten Conference. My professors, coaches, and teammates provided a strong support system and countless opportunities to grow as a person. The challenging academics, rigorous athletic training, and real-world internship experiences have prepared me well for the demands of the professional world.

Graduating from the University of Maryland means so much more to me than just receiving my degree. In my four years here, I encountered so many people that were there to help me when I needed, I was exposed to countless opportunities that have gotten me where I am today, and I fell in love with a community I will be a part of for the rest of my life. The University of Maryland and being a UMD student athlete will always have a special place in my heart.

Being at Maryland has been an incredible experience. Being able to get a degree from such a great business school like Smith while being a part of a team was an extremely valuable experience. Being on the team created an environment to learn and improve with my best friends. I greatly look forward to using my knowledge gained from both the business school and golf team experiences throughout my career.

Over the last fours as a student-athlete at Maryland, I have made memories and friendships that will last a lifetime! I am forever grateful for all of the opportunities that Maryland Athletics and soccer gave me to shape me into who I am today.
