Maryland football’s Cameron Edge emphasizes looking sharp on and off the field. With his new partnership with Michael StrahanBrand, he’s able to elevate his game with all their customizable features to ensure he’s ready on game day.

Hall of Fame NFL defensive end Michael Strahan has his own collection of men’s dress wear that Edge, a redshirt freshman quarterback for the Terps, confidently represents. It’s a partnership that fits well, as it’s a tradition for Maryland football players to do something called the Terp Walk. It’s when the football team, cheerleading squad, and marching band walk to the stadium before every home game. All players are dressed accordingly, often sporting a suit and tie in unison.

Edge said that he thinks the Terps Walk is an awesome tradition continued by head coach Michael Locksley. However, it hits closer to home for Edge because it marked the first time he had ever put a suit on.

“That’s kind of like the thing I like a lot about what Coach Locks does with the Terp Walk,” Edge said. “A lot of us from where we're from have never had to put a suit on. So it was kind of a new experience for me. Being here from Delaware I've never ever put a suit on.

I think the Strahan Brand is a pros NIL. I feel like that's what it was supposed to be meant for. You’d be able to do that and wear suits and represent a brand. I think that's kind of what NIL was meant to be. I think that was a really cool opportunity and I hope other people get the same chance as me and it was really nice to do it.

Edge’s collaboration with Michael Strahan™ Brand updates his wardrobe and allows him to experience what it’s like to wear a stylish suit whenever he pleases. He has received two custom suits from the brand, each with features fully engineered by him.

Edge was able to tinker with almost every aspect of the suit. He added his last name and number 12 on the inside of the jackets and his desired fabric, designs, patterns, and interior colors. Almost everything was basically from scratch, Edge said.

Michael Strahan™ Brand is partnered with Men’s Warehouse. Edge received his two custom suits through them by creating two Instagram posts. The first was a reel of him getting ready at home with select Michael Strahan-branded attire.

The other post was a set of photos taken at night that he posted less than a month later.

Koral Chen, Senior Vice President of brand development and licensing at SMAC Entertainment, provided a statement on behalf of the company. She has worked with many notable brands and product launches and Michael Strahan™ Brand is among them.

“As we grow the Michael Strahan™ Brand, we are on the lookout for college athletes that align with our company,” Chen said. “Not only do we love helping guys look and feel good off the field, but by providing them with a different kind of uniform, we are helping set them up for success for the second chapter of their career. Given Michael’s success at reinventing himself after football, there is no one better to help them excel on and off the field.”

Edge has been looking to build his suit collection by adding more colors. He says it's something he’s still in the process of doing, but he likes to have different options for different occasions. He finds the confidence it gives him rewarding.

“Putting a suit on kind of makes you feel a little bit different. Especially when you've never really done it.” Edge said. “It makes you feel really professional in many ways. It actually got to the point where I used to almost buy a suit every week.”

Edge was rocking Michael Strahan™ Brand when he arrived for Maryland’s TransPerfect Music City Bowl game in Nashville, TN, on Dec. 30. The Terps came away with a 31-13 win, and Edge threw for 82 yards and a touchdown despite briefly entering the game in the first quarter.

The Michael Strahan™ Brand deal is one Edge views as new and exciting, and he’s grateful for the opportunities he has been afforded with NIL.

“I think the Strahan Brand is a pros NIL,” Edge said, meaning he views the brand and represents it as one that’s professional. “I feel like that's what it was supposed to be meant for. You’d be able to do that and wear suits and represent a brand. I think that's kind of what NIL was meant to be. I think that was a really cool opportunity and I hope other people get the same chance as me and it was really nice to do it.”
