The Bernhardt Brothers

Senior attackman Jared Bernhardt’s dominance on the lacrosse field at Maryland has been years in the making, beginning with his brothers Jake Bernhardt (’13) and current assistant coach Jesse Bernhardt (’13). Jake and Jesse both starred for the Terps during their years in College Park, earning All-American honors while helping lead Maryland to the 2011 ACC Tournaments and two NCAA Championship games. Enter Jared in 2017, when he helped Maryland capture its first National Championship in 43 years before becoming a three-time All-American and the program’s all-time goals leader in 2021.

The Griffin Sisters

Two of the premier attackers in Maryland’s recent run of dominance, Brooke and Brindi Griffin have been a constant presence in the score column over the last 10 seasons with both sisters playing a key role in the Terps’ last four national championships. Brooke started the scoring for the Griffin sisters from 2012–15, standing eighth all-time in program history with 198 goals and 279 points and helping lead Maryland to the 2014 & 2015 titles. Brindi followed in her sister’s footsteps beginning in 2017 and was key in the Terps 2019 title run, scoring nine goals in the Final Four and earning a spot on the NCAA All-Tournament Team. This season, Brindi stands second on the team with 43 points and 32 goals.

The Hensh Sisters

Another key name on the Maryland attack over the last several years: Hensh. Taylor played for the Terps from 2015-18, scoring 106 goals, winning two National Championships and seven Big Ten Championships, while Victoria now is contributing on offense in what is just her redshirt freshman season. The Woodstock, Md., products are Maryland bred through and through, with their brother also currently in school in College Park and their cousin Jen Giles, starring for the women’s lacrosse team from 2016–19.

The Koras Brothers

The Koras name is prominent on both the lacrosse field and the links in College Park, as brothers Will Koras (men’s golf) and Jack Koras (men’s lacrosse) represent their home state for their respective programs. Jack has made an immediate impact, earning a role on the Terps’ second midfield line while being lauded by Coach Tillman as one of the team’s hardest workers. Will, the eldest of the family, has been a steady presence in the Terrapin lineup for coach Jason Rodenhaver in his junior season- including recording a hole-in-one in April. The Maryland Athletics Koras clan will grow to three next year when the youngest boy of the family, Charlie, joins Jack on the lacrosse field.

The Maltz Brothers

Before current attackman Daniel Maltz became one of the most efficient scorers in college lacrosse, his brother Dylan laid the foundation for the Maltzs offensive prowess in College Park. A three-year starter after joining the program in 2015, Maltz became a dynamic finisher for three straight Final Four teams, eventually helping Maryland to the 2017 National Championship. Now it’s Daniel’s turn. The sophomore is well on his way to eclipsing his brother’s single-season and career scoring marks. Nothing wrong with a little sibling rivalry, right?

The May Sisters

Both bringing a unique and diverse skillset to the Maryland attack, Catie and Libby May are key to the 2021 Terps offense. With Catie, a senior, anchoring from behind the net, feeding and rolling, and her younger sister Libby, a sophomore, dodging from the top, the Terps returned to their winning ways this season. The May sisters, who played at different high schools but reunited in College Park to star for the Terps, have combined to be a part of more than 100 goals in their careers, with the sister assist and score connection always a threat to opposing defenses. In 2021, a May sister had a least one point in every game.
