An elevated fandom opportunity for the newest generation of Terps fans.
COLLEGE PARK, MD — Maryland Athletics and the Terrapin Club are a year into their Next Gen Terps initiative and giving program. After a 2025-26 full of networking, unique opportunities, and elevated experiences, the group looks forward to another unforgettable year with more members and more memories.
Next Gen Terps is dedicated to cultivating a strong and spirited network of Terps who are passionate and invested in the future of Maryland Athletics. It is designed for young individuals in their twenties and thirties to help build community and connection, and offers exclusive access and elevated benefits to those who make a $300 annual commitment to Maryland Athletics.
"The growth of the Next Gen Terps program in its first year shows that our supporters in their early and mid careers want to be involved in meaningful and dynamic ways," said Kirby Mills, Senior Associate Athletics Director and Chief Development Officer. "This program offers members that opportunity throughout the year. This is an important part of our efforts to cultivate and connect with the newer generation of Terp fans and we look forward to its continued growth."
Throughout the first year of the program, Next Gen Terps attracted over 60 members and provided several exclusive and signature events, including field passes to select football games, the opportunity to walk down the Mark L. Butler Tunnel — the same tunnel Terps Football uses — before a home football game, a watch party for a game on the road, networking events around the East Coast, and virtual meet-and-greets with members of the Maryland football and men's basketball staffs.
Lindsay Goldstein '22 became a member of the Next Gen Terps, "because it gets recent graduates involved again with Maryland Athletics. We get to see a new side of the athletic department that we did not get to see as students."
As a member of the program, Goldstein wants to see others join because of the experiences they will have and more opportunities to be involved. Goldstein and other members of Next Gen Terps get an inside look at the football and basketball programs as well as unique insights into both the operations and commercial sides of the athletics department.
"I renewed my membership for Year Two because I cannot wait to see what new experiences Next Gen Terps can bring to me that I have not already experienced during Year One," Goldstein said. "Maryland Athletics is important to me because it brings my family and friends together. It is something that we all love to experience and I cannot wait to see how it grows in the future."
Doron Tamari '11 believes in the purpose of Next Gen Terps. He knows it takes everyone who cares about Maryland for success to occur, saying, "Winning championships takes more than talented athletes, it takes a community that shows up. Next Gen Terps gives young alumni a direct way to contribute to that, at a level that actually fits where they are in life. We needed a way to turn Terp pride into real impact, and this is it."
This is only the beginning of the Next Gen Terps program. In its first year, Next Gen Terps collectively contributed more than $15,000 to Maryland Athletics' Impact Fund which will go toward facility enhancements for the Kehoe Track & Field Complex as Maryland continues to attract and develop world-class talent, including incoming freshman and Olympic gold medalist Quincy Wilson.
That ability to create an impact is something that this group of young alumni care about when it comes to supporting Maryland Athletics. Doron emphasized, nowhere else are fans able to "directly support your team's success, connect with coaches and programs up close, and do it alongside a group of people who feel exactly the same way you do. It's an investment in Maryland winning and in a community of Terps who care just as much as you do!"
The 2026-27 athletic year promises to be an exciting one for Maryland fans, and Next Gen Terps is hosting more signature events — on top of what was offered last year — including access to the annual Crab Feast with Maryland football on Aug. 15, a preseason invitation to a men's basketball practice, postgame court access for select basketball games, discounted ticket nights, and more.
"The experiences last year were unlike anything else: personal, behind-the-scenes, and genuinely fun," Tamari said. "Knowing my dollars are going directly toward helping Maryland student-athletes compete and win was the cherry on top."
