Ranked number one in the nation since the first official week of the season, Maryland never vacated the top spot the rest of the year en route to the 2022 NCAA Title. The Terps have held the top spot in four of the last six seasons.

When Logan Wisnauskas was named 2022 Tewaaraton Award Winner he followed Jared Bernhardt from last season as back-to-back Terrapin winners. Maryland becomes the first school with consecutive winners since UAlbany in 2014 and 2015. The Terps now have three of the last five winners, with Matt Rambo setting the standard for Bernhardt and Wisnauskas.

Maryland now owns four NCAA Titles and 13 total national titles. Legendary Coach Bud Beardmore led Maryland to the first two titles, while current head coach John TIllman is responsible for the two most recent titles.

The Terps had the maximum eight student-athletes named to the All-Big Ten teams. Five Terps were on the first team (Keegan Khan, Brett Makar, Roman Puglise, Luke Wierman, Logan Wisnauskas) while three appeared on the second team (John Geppert, Jonathan Donville, Kyle Long).

Maryland boasted 11 individual double-digit goal scorers this past season. The list goes as follows: Logan Wisnauskas (61), Keegan Khan (35), Owen Murphy (34), Anthony DeMaio (33), Jonathan Donville (31), Eric Malever (26), Kyle Long (17), Jack Koras (14), Jack Brennan (13), Daniel Maltz (10), and Roman Puglise (10).

Maryland had twelve student-athletes named USILA All-Americans this season, by far the most of any program. The first team featured Logan Wisnauskas, Roman Puglise, Luke Wierman, and Brett Makar. Jonathan Donville and Ajax Zappitello found spots on the second and third teams respectively. Logan McNaney, Kyle Long, Anthony DeMaio, Bubba Fairman, Keegan Khan, and John Geppert were named Honorable Mentions.

No team had ever gone undefeated with 18 wins before the Maryland Terrapins accomplished it this season. The previous record was 17-0 by 2006 Virginia.

Maryland has now advanced to 28 Final Fours in program history including nine of the last twelve. The 28 are the second-most of any program, only trailing Johns Hopkins (29).

Maryland has won an incredible 43 straight games when allowing less than ten goals. The Terps didn’t allow more than nine goals in their final five games. Under Coach Tillman, the Terps are 101-13 for an .886 winning percentage when holding foes under 10.

Maryland has 57 straight games with a Terp hat trick dating back to February 2, 2019. The Terps had nine hat tricks over the course of this season’s NCAA Tournament run. Logan Wisnauskas leads Maryland during that time with 38 while Jared Bernhardt is responsible for 29.

In the first quarter of the 2022 National Championship Game, Anthony DeMaio recorded his 100th goal to become the 17th Terp ever to do so. He finishes his career tied for 16th-overall with 102 career goals and sits 19th-place in program history with 177 total points.

Logan Wisnauskas shot past Jared Bernhardt’s previous single-season record and became the first Terp to break the 100-point barrier this past season.

Coach John Tillman owns 160 career victories at Maryland including 28 in the NCAA Tournament. Tillman’s resume continues to impress with two NCAA titles, nine Final Fours, ten total Big Ten titles, and 79 USILA All-Americans.

Goalie Logan McNaney made 200 saves this season including 61 in four NCAA Tournament games. He is now 35-1 in his career with 389 career saves.

As a team, the Terps set a new NCAA record with 204 assists, passing UAlbany’s record of 203 from 2015. Six Terrapins finished the season with at least 20 assists and Maryland assisted on all nine of its goals in the Championship Game.

Maryland native Logan Wisnauskas shattered Jared Bernhardt’s career point record of 290 before finishing his career with 340. Eleventh in points among all Division 1 men’s lacrosse players in history, Wisnauskas has the fourth-most goals all-time. While four-time All-American Joe Walters sits in fifth-place with 227 career points, Wisnauskas is a staggering 113 points ahead of him.

The most dominant faceoff specialist in the nation, Luke Wierman had the best faceoff season in Maryland history. He set season records with 298 faceoffs won and 451 faceoffs taken. His 160 groundballs were second all-time in one season. He was a unanimous All-Big Ten First Team selection and also a USILA First Team All-American.

Maryland led for 967:13 of a total 1,080 minutes this season, or 89.56 percent. Maryland trailed for only 40:39 across the entire season. Maryland only trailed in the second half in one game, April 16 against Ohio State, and that was also the last time they trailed by more than a single goal. Maryland only trailed in five of a total 18 games this season.
