
Three Maryland Men’s Lacrosse Players Named CSC Academic All-District

COLLEGE PARK, MD — Three members of the Maryland men's lacrosse team have been named Academic All-District, as announced by College Sports Communicators on Tuesday. The 2026 Academic All-District Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
To be considered for CSC Academic All-District honors, nominees must be at least a sophomore academically and hold a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.0 scale at their current institution. Student-athletes must also compete in at least 90 percent of their team's games or start in at least 66 percent of the games they play.
Brian Ruppel, Henry Dodge, and Christopher Lyons all earned Academic All-District team honors.
Dodge, a senior, was named a 2026 USILA Third Team All-American after finishing the season with a .679 faceoff percentage, ranking second nationally and first in the Big Ten. He won 114 of 168 faceoffs on the year and concluded his career with a .634 faceoff percentage, the second-best mark among active players. He also earned First Team All-Big Ten honors.
Ruppel, also a senior, started and played in all 13 games, recording 127 saves and posting an 8.91 goals-against average. He finished third in the Big Ten and ninth nationally in goals-against average (8.91). He was also named Big Ten Specialist of the Week on March 17, 2026.
Lyons, a graduate student, finished the season with 18 goals and ranked sixth among active Division I players in career goals (146) and fifth in goals per game (2.70). He finished third on the team in goals during the 2026 season.
