#1 - FINAL FOUR BOUND! No. 7 Terps Rally To Beat No. 2 Duke, 14-11

May 18, 2024

No. 7 seed Maryland men's lacrosse advanced to the NCAA semifinals for the third time in four years by rallying to defeat No. 2 seed Duke, 14-11, on Saturday at Shuart Stadium. Maryland (10-5) will make its 29th Final Four appearance, tying the most by any program in history with Johns Hopkins. The Terps now have 21 consecutive seasons with double-digit wins, the longest streak in the nation.

#2 - Maryland Athletics Mourns The Loss Of Legendary Lefty Driesell

With great sadness, the University of Maryland mourns the loss of an icon today as it was announced that Charles "Lefty" Driesell (Dec. 25, 1931-Feb. 17, 2024) passed away on Saturday morning at the age of 92. Driesell was a legend in the sport who left an indelible mark on Maryland basketball and the college basketball community as a whole.

#3 - Terps Rally For Dramatic Last-Minute Win Over USC, 29-28

October 19, 2024

Billy Edwards Jr.'s rushing touchdown with 53 seconds remaining gave Maryland its largest fourth-quarter comeback win in five seasons, as the Terps rallied for a dramatic 29-28 victory over USC in the first-ever meeting between the teams on Homecoming at SECU Stadium. The Terps scored 15 fourth-quarter points for their first Big Ten win of the season to move to 4-3 overall and 1-3 in conference play.

#4 - Malachi Palmer Officially Signs NLI With Maryland Basketball

April 17, 2024

Four-star guard Malachi Palmer has officially signed his National Letter of Intent to play for the University of Maryland. The 6-foot-6, 215-pound guard announced his commitment in January choosing the Terps over Florida State, Oklahoma State, Seton Hall, and West Virginia.

"We're excited to welcome Malachi to the program," said head coach Kevin Willard. "He adds good size and versatility, has the ability to get to the rim, and is a physical guard."

#5 - Maryland Signs All-Big Ten, All-Atlantic 10 Transfers

April 24, 2024

Maryland women's basketball team head coach Brenda Frese signed All-Big Ten transfer Kaylene Smikle and Atlantic 10 Player of the Year Sarah Te-Biasu this week.

Smikle, a native of Bay Shore, N.Y., earned All-Big Ten Second Team and All-Big Ten Freshman Team honors at Rutgers. Te-Biasu was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Year after averaging 15.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists this season at VCU.

#7 - Terps Advance To Big Ten Semifinals With Stunning Win Over Top-Seeded Buckeyes, 82-61

March 8, 2024

No. 8 seed Maryland advanced to the Big Ten Tournament Semifinals after stunning No. 1 seed and No. 4 nationally-ranked Ohio State, 82-61, on Friday at Target Center. It was the Terps' first win over a Top-5 ranked team since beating No. 4 Louisville, 76-73, on April 1, 2014 in the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight. The Terps will play in the semifinals for the ninth time in its 10 seasons in the Big Ten.

#8 - Derik Queen Officially Signs NLI With Maryland Basketball

April 17, 2024

After committing to the Terps in February, McDonald's All-American and consensus five-star recruit Derik Queen has officially signed his National Letter of Intent to play for Maryland. Queen, a Baltimore native, is the second-highest rated recruit (No. 12 nationally) to sign with the Terps between five-stars Diamond Stone (No. 8, 2015) and Jalen Smith (No. 15, 2018).

"We are excited to have Derik coming home to be a Terp," said head coach Kevin Willard. "Derik has a tremendous skillset on both sides of the floor. He is a player that wants to make an impact on our program and we think he can do that early in his career."

#9 - Maryland Athletics Partners With UNION Craft Brewing On New Testudo Premium Lager Craft Beer

August 1, 2024

Maryland Athletics has partnered with UNION Craft Brewing to launch Testudo Premium Lager, the official craft beer of the Maryland Terrapins. The beer will debut in athletic venues including SECU Stadium and XFINITY Center, and retail locations across the state in August.

Named Testudo Premium Lager, the beer draws inspiration from the legendary Maryland mascot. For nearly a century, Testudo has been an enduring symbol of the university's history and pride. Cans of Testudo depict a vintage Testudo logo, made popular during the late 1980s and 1990s.

#10 - Maryland Athletics To Unveil New XFINITY Center Videoboard and Sound System

April 23, 2024

Maryland Athletics continues to upgrade its facilities and enhance the fan experience as the department announced on Tuesday plans to unveil a new XFINITY Center videoboard and sound system for the 2024-25 season. The new Daktronics videoboard will be a 400 percent increase in size and pixel quality compared to the current board at XFINITY Center.
