Maryland Athletics Wins Three Capital Emmy Awards

BETHESDA, MD — The Broadcast & Production department in Maryland Athletics won three Capital Emmy Awards as announced by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter on Saturday at the 68th Annual Awards ceremony on June 20.
Maryland Athletics has now won 15 Capital Emmy Awards over the last five years.
Maryland Athletics — captained by Associate AD Broadcast & Production Michael Farrell — captured a Capital Emmy in Category 102: Sports Excellence for its consistently incredible work highlighting the Terps and their stories.
Albert Tong, Assistant Athletic Director for Football Creative Video, earned his first of two Capital Emmy Awards in Category 403: Sports Story – Long Form Content for his work on NFL Dreams: Tai Felton. Videographer Noah Vasington received recognition for his efforts on the piece.
Tong, Vasington, and editor Marc Warr also earned a Capital Emmy Award in Category 405: Sports Program – Post-Produced or Edited for their season-long work on Maryland football’s In Season series.
Overall, Maryland Athletics had a total of six nominations for the 68th Annual National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter Awards, and brought three Capital Emmy Awards back to College Park.
