Maryland is one of only four institutions in history to have won NCAA championships in both Men’s and Women’s Basketball. It is our vision that the new Barry P. Gossett Basketball Performance Center, will continue to provide our teams with the infrastructure they need in competing for championships. This center provides a transformative experience for our student-athletes, giving them an unmatched opportunity to become top collegiate basketball players.
The Barry P. Gossett Basketball Performance Center was officially unveiled prior to the 2025-26 season after officially breaking ground in June 2023.
Located adjacent to the XFINITY Center, the Barry P. Gossett Basketball Performance Center offers a wealth of exciting amenities to our student-athletes, coaches and friends of Maryland Basketball, while creating a new landmark on the northern edge of the University of Maryland campus.
The performance center includes an expanded strength and conditioning center that is specifically tailored to the needs of basketball student-athletes as well as state-of-the-art meeting rooms for our dedicated coaches. These provide our basketball program a competitive edge in recruiting efforts and help attract the nation’s top talent while positioning Maryland as a top-tier program. Our recruits step inside a facility dedicated to their success and leave knowing they have the opportunity to be a part of a stellar intercollegiate athletic program.
