Facility Use
- Maryland Athletics Facility use is permissible for NIL activities provided all forms are signed and you have gone through the proper channels:
- Please contact Liz Cardinale (ecard27@umd.edu ) if interested in utilizing a facility ONLY for NIL purposes.
Trademarks and Logos
- Use of University or Athletic Department registered trademarks and logos is prohibited without the express written consent of Maryland University or Athletics
- This includes wearing any University of Maryland apparel with trademarks and logos
- You may not utilize photos or videos with University Athletic trademarks and Logos for NIL Activities
- Please contact Greg Berkowitz (gberkow1@umd.edu) if you have questions about utilizing University Marks for NIL purposes
Academics
- Should you choose to miss class or any academic obligations for an NIL activity there could be repercussions at the individual University of Maryland professor's discretion
Representation for Student-Athletes - Agents
- Student-Athletes may secure representation (agent or lawyer) for the purposes of NIL. Your representation must be for the intent of marketing/promoting your Name, Image and Likeness, and not for the purposes of athletic promotion.
Other Considerations
- International student-athletes should not enter into an NIL agreement without consulting outside legal counsel and ISSS
- Grants, federal aid, and other need based aid may be affected by your NIL Activities
