Kehoe Track & Field Complex

The University of Maryland track and field teams train at one of the top on-campus facilities in the Baltimore-Washington region, the Kehoe Track and Field Complex.Located directly adjacent to Parking Lot 1 and close to the University Boulevard entrance to campus, the facility also surrounds Ludwig Field, the home of Terrapin soccer.

With a capacity of 4,500 fans, the complex is named for longtime Maryland athletics director, track coach and sprinter Jim Kehoe, who is a member of the United States Track Coaches Hall of Fame. Kehoe was part of the College Park campus for 39 years, beginning as an athlete and ending with his retirement from the athletics-director spot in 1978.

As an athlete, his half-mile mark of 1:50.7 remained unbroken for 23 years. He graduated from the university in 1940. During his time as the Maryland track and field coach, Terrapin teams won 48 Southern Conference and Atlantic Coast Conference titles.
