
Terps' Tagliente Named ACC Field Hockey Player Of The Week

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Junior forward Carla Tagliente (Cortland, N.Y.) was named the Atlantic Coast Conference field hockey Player of the Week as announced by the conference office. She enjoyed one of the more impressive statistical week's in ACC play this season as she led the No. 2 ranked Terps to three victories.
Tagliente scored eight goals and recorded two assists for a total of 18 points in Maryland's three victories last week. She scored hat tricks against both No. 10 James Madison and Rutgers and scored two goals and added two assists against Radford. Tagliente entered the week with 10 goals and 23 total points and closed the week with 18 goals and 41 total points.
Tagliente has now scored 49 career goals to rank tied for fifth in school history. She is now tied with former All-America selection Nadine Bennett (1994-97) who also scored 49 goals during her four-year varsity career. She is within three goals of fourth place and four goals of third place on the Terps all-time goal-scoring list.
She is now ranked fourth in school history with 125 total career points. Her 18 points last week allowed her to move from sixth place into fourth passing All-Americans Christine DeBow (1994-97) and Nadine Bennett (1994-97). She is only the fourth player in school history to score 125 or more career points.
