GREENSBORO, N.C -- Maryland senior midfielder Emily Janss (Brandon,
Fla.) was named the ACC's women's soccer player of the week after
leading the Terrapins to a 2-1 overtime victory over ninth-ranked
Clemson on Sunday at Ludwig Field.
Janss netted both goals in the Terps' victory, including the game-winner
in the first overtime. The game-winning goal was her second of the
season. On the season, Janss has five goals and three assists for 13
points, both second on the squad. Overall, Janss has 14 career goals and
36 career points to rank 10th on Maryland's career lists.
The Terps are riding a four-game winning streak and have even their
record at 7-7-1 and stand in sole possession of fourth place in the ACC
with a 2-1-1 record. Maryland is also ranked fifth in the most recent
Mid-Atlantic Region poll of Oct. 18.
Maryland returns to action on Friday night as it hosts No. 11 Wake
Forest at 7 p.m. at Ludwig Field.
