Terps' Hiskins Named ACC Field Hockey Player Of The Week

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Junior midfielder Rachel Hiskins (Victoria, Australia) was named the Atlantic Coast Conference field hockey Player of the Week as announced by the conference office. She recorded six assists in two games as Maryland defeated two nationally ranked opponents. It marked the league-leading second time this season that she has earned the weekly honor.
Hiskins recorded a school-record tying four assists in Maryland's 8-2 victory over Princeton on Oct. 15. It marked the second time this season that she had been credited with four assists in a single game. She then assisted on both of Maryland's goals in its 2-0 victory over No. 6 Old Dominion on Oct. 17.
Hiskins' six assists in Maryland's two victories last week to bring her 1999 total to 27. Her 27 assists ranks as the second-highest single-season total in school history. She trails only Jen Pratt who recorded 33 assists in 22 games during the 1997 season.
Hiskins has recorded a career-high 57 total points (15 goals, 27 assists) this season. Her total ranks as the third-highest single-season total in school history.
