Maryland Head Coach Sasho Cirovski "Obviously it's very disappointing to lose this game because we played well enough to win. We had some terrific chances that we just didn't capitalize on."

"We went for the gusto at the end and committed a lot of people to the attack, and they caught us on a counter (attack) and scored ...I would much rather lose a game and commit to attacking and play the game the way it should be played."

"This is just another obstacle, a bump in the road. We're going to rebound ... This year, I think we learned the heavy weight of being a top ten team all year."

"I'm proud of this team this year. They're young and there was a lot of pressure."

On St. John's Defensive style of play: "It's a very different mentality (then Maryland's). Their gameplan worked, but you're never going to see that from Maryland. The players who play here appreciate that.

"Today was a tough day to play. With the unusual heat in November, we fatigued a little. Our defenders did a great job today. We battled well, showed a lot of guts and determination. Pat (Patrick Lonergan) gave a great feed, and we just capitalized on the opportunity."

On Goalkeeper Dan Popik: "He controlled for us in the back. Especially today, the box was crowded and it's difficult for a goalie to maneuver. It's especially important for him hold his ground, and he came through today."

"I saw Pat come in, I just went through took the ball, I didn't try to dribble the ball too much, I just tried to put it through the best I could and bury it. This is definitely the best goal of my career, especially it is against a team like Maryland."

"This is one of my best game, anytime you shut out the opponent in the NCAA tournament, it is a good game for me. Taylor is on of the best strikers in the country, he had a great chance to beat me, but he just didn't cap it."
