COLLEGE PARK, Md. - In winning the ACC's offensive back of the week for the second time this season, junior tailback LaMont Jordan (Forestville, Md.) turned in a monster day last Saturday while recording the third-best single-game rushing effort in Atlantic Coast Conference history.
Jordan ran for a school-record 306 yards on a career-high 37 carries in Maryland's 34-30 loss to Virginia. He scored two touchdowns including a career-long 90-yard jaunt to stake the Terrapins to a 24-17 lead in the third quarter.
Jordan established the Maryland mark for single-game yards, and in doing so, set new standards for single-season yards (1,632) and rushing touchdowns (16). He will enter his senior year at Maryland just 90 yards shy of the Terps' career yardage mark, and just 1,375 yards shy of the ACC career rushing mark.
