RALEIGH, N.C. -- On the night that the NC State honored its new career kills leader, the Pack fell in five games to Maryland.
The Pack dropped the first game 10-15 after NC State Head Coach Kim Hall was penalized with a red card as Maryland was leading 14-10 and serving. Hall received both her yellow and red cards arguing calls involving Maryland players reaching over the net.
Laura Kimbrell, who is currently leads the ACC in kills per game, got the Pack going in games two and three as the Pack fought back and took a two games to one lead.
Maryland and NC State found themselves deadlocked in a tight fourth game where neither team seemed to have the edge. The Pack would routinely find themselves down two points then charge back to tie the Terps. Maryland eventually outlasted the NC State surge and took the fourth game 15-10.
The Wolfpack seemed to loose gas as the fifth and decisive game went along. As a result, Maryland eventually took that game, and consequently the match, 15-10.
The Pack will host games on Saturday and Sunday against Florida State and Virginia respectively. Both games will be held at Reynolds Coliseum with Saturdays game starting at 6:00 p.m. and Sundays taking place at 4:00 p.m..
