Terp Broadcaster to be Featured in Pop Concert on Campus Sunday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Veteran University of Maryland broadcaster Johnny Holliday will be among the featured participants in the university's 23rd annual pops concert this Sunday at 2 p.m. in Stamp Student Union on the Maryland campus.
Sunday's performance, titled "A Salute to Broadway," will showcase songs from many of the musical productions in which Holliday performed, including "Me and My Girl," "42nd Street," "Finian's Rainbow," "Company," "Bye, Bye Birdie," and "Music Man." Holliday, the voice of the Terps for the past 20 years, was nominated for a Helen Hayes Award for best actor in a musical for his performance in "Me and My Girl."
Also featured on Sunday will be Liz Weber, a Helen Hayes nominee for her performance in "Me and My Girl."
Sunday's show also features John E. Wakefield, conductor of the symphonic wind ensemble, and L. Richmond Sparks, conductor of the concert band.
