COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland (8-10, 2-6) continues its ACC schedule, hosting North Carolina (19-4, 7-1) on Friday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m., and returning on Saturday to host NC State (10-10, 0-8) at 5 p.m. North Carolina and Maryland meet for the 31st time on Friday with the Tar Heels holding a 17-13 series lead. The last time Maryland lost to North Carolina was on Oct. 6, 1995, when the Tar Heels handed the Terps a 3-2 loss in Chapel Hill. NC State and Maryland meet for the 36th time with the Terps holding a 20-15 series lead. The last time the Wolfpack defeated the Terps was Oct. 14, 1988, when the Terps dropped a 3-0 decision.
FLORIDA STATE REWIND

Murphy also led all Terps on defense with 11 digs. The Seminoles limited the Terp attack to a .163 hitting percentage.
VIRGINIA RECAP
Virginias three-game win against Maryland on Tuesday marked the first time the Cavaliers had defeated the Terrapins since Nov. 22, 1991, ending what was nearly a seven-year losing streak. The Cavaliers used a balanced attack to hand the Terps a 15-6, 15-12, 15-12 defeat. Senior middle hitter Jaime Summers (Conneaut Lake, Pa.) led the Terps on offense and on defense with 19 kills and 17 digs.
SUMMERS BACK ON TRACK
Maryland senior middle hitter Jaime Summers (Conneaut Lake, Pa.) returned to seasons past two weeks ago, totaling a season-high 23 kills against NC State, and hitting a season-high .421 against North Carolina. She recorded double-figure kills and digs against NC State for only the sixth time this season. She also totaled nine blocks this past weekend, including five blocks against North Carolina. Summers previously hit. 400 against Temple on Sept. 5, after totaling 14 kills on 25 swings with four errors. She is hitting .268 and is averaging 2.52 kills per game.

BLOCKIN TERPS
Maryland is fifth in the ACC in blocks per game with a 2.67 per game average (as of Oct. 13). Freshman Katie Cramer ranks seventh in blocks per game with a 1.18 per game average.
MICHIGAN ENDS TERP STREAK
Marylands 33-match regular-season winning streak was snapped after Michigan defeated the Terps, 3-1, at the Georgetown Invitational on Sept. 4. It was the Terps first regular-season loss since their loss to Florida on Oct. 18, 1996. The Wolverines won game one, 15-8, but the Terps came back in game two, grabbing a 15-13 win. The experienced Wolverine attack proved to be too much, however, for the young Terp squad, as they took the final two games, 15-8, 15-5, respectively.
QUICK SET
Freshman Libby Alberts has earned the starting nod for the Terps at the setter position. In her first year in a Maryland uniform, Alberts has totaled 687 assists in 70 games for a 9.81 per game average.
BRIDOVA OUT MAKING HER WAY BACK
Maryland sophomore setter Katarina Bridova (Bratislava, Slovakia) made her way back into the Maryland lineup against Florida State after spraining her ankle in practice two weeks ago. Bridova has appeared in 12 matches, playing in 24 games. She is averaging 2.46 assists per game.
KRUGER STILL LEADS ACC ACTIVE COACHES
Maryland head coach Janice Kruger (Nebraska, 77) leads all ACC active coaches in career victories. Kruger has totaled 77 career ACC wins and 37 career losses in her 10 years in the league, and has a .675 winning percentage.
KRUGER NEARING 600 WIN PLATAEU
Maryland head coach Janice Kruger is 13 wins shy of career-win No. 600. Kruger owns a 587-224-6 career record in 20 years of coaching. Kruger would become the 14th coach all-time to record 600 wins. Cal State Sacramento head coach Debbie Colberg is presently three wins shy of win No. 600, and she is the 13th all-time winningest coach. Kruger follows her as the nations 14th all-time winningest coach.
