COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Senior forward Kasey Heiser (Schaefferstown, Pa.) scored two goals, including the game-winner, leading seventh-ranked Maryland (14-5) to a 3-2 win over ninth-ranked James Madison (11-8) today. Heiser broke a 2-2 tie by scoring an unassisted goal with 22:22 remaining in the second half.
The Terps took a 2-1 halftime lead on goals from Heiser and senior Jen Pratt (Greene, N.Y.). The visiting Dukes got a first half goal from Nicole Gaudette. After James Madison senior forward Tara Nappi tied the game at 2-2 with 30:20 to go in the second half, Heiser produced the winning goal for the Terps.
With the victory, the Terps conclude their regular season with a perfect 11-0 home record. They have the next week off before traveling down to Charlottesville for the ACC Tournament, which will be held Nov. 6-8.
