State College, PA--Redshirt freshman Brandon York (Gaithersburg, Md./
Damascus) will face the University of Pittsburgh's Shawn Amistade in the
first round ofthe NCAA Wrestling Championships on Thursday morning at Penn
State University.Amistade, a sophomore from Washington, Pa went 21-7 this
past season and finishedsecond in the EWL.
If York advances to the second round, he will face No. 2 seed Cody Sanderson,
a junior from of Iowa State, on Thursday evening. Sanderson had a bye in the
opening round. He finished second in the Big 12 with a 26-5 mark.

As a redshirt freshman (1998-99):Compiled a 24-4 overall record (through

Jim Guzzio (1996) to win the prestigious Penn State Open ... won all four
matches at the Millersville-Belles Invitational to claim his third consecutive
tournament title ... won four consecutive dual matches from Jan. 13 to Jan.
28 ... won two of three matches at the talent-filled Congressional Cup to
finish second ... went 2-2 in the ACC during the regular season.
