6 to Be Inducted into Athletic Hall of Fame

COLLEGE PARK, Md.- Six former University of Maryland athletic greats will be inducted into the Terps' athletic Hall of Fame at enshrinement ceremonies to be held in conjunction with the 47th annual M Club Sports Banquet Friday, May 1.
The banquet will be held at the Inn and Conference Center on campus. A reception begins at 5:45 p.m., with dinner at 6:30 p.m.
This year's class of inductees into the Hall of Fame includes John Baelitza (track and field), Tara Heiss (women's basketball), Gobel Kline (wrestling), Renaldo Nehemiah (track and field), Douglas Radebaugh (men's lacrosse), and Stan Lavine (football/longtime team physician), who will be inducted posthumanly.
In addition, the M Club will recognize 1997-98 Terrapin All- American and honorary M Club members. The organization also will bestow its Distinguished Citizen of the Year Award on university President Dr. William E. Kirwan.
