Tagliente Named to GTE Academic All-America District Team

College Park, Md. - Sophomore field hockey midfielder Carla Tagliente (Cortland, N.Y.) has been named to the 1998-99 GTE Academic All-America District II Women's At-Large Team. She joins 10 other student-athletes from District II who will advance to the National GTE All-America ballot.
Tagliente excelled both in the classroom and on the playing field this past year. She made the Dean's List in both the spring and fall 1998 semesters and earned first-team All-America honors. Tagliente was also named to the 1998 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) National Academic Squad and the 1997-98 ACC Honor Roll.
The National GTE Academic All-America Team will be announced later this spring.
