Women's Volleyball Sweep American Eagles, 3-0

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland junior outside hitter Kate Hannas hit a career-high .737, and the Terps hit a season-high .344, to record a 15-8, 15-11, 15-7 sweep against the American Eagles on Monday night at Ritchie Coliseum.

Hannas was one of four Terrapins to hit over .400, including freshman middle hitter Katie Crameris .615 hitting percentage. Junior outside hitter Beth Murphy and sophomore outside hitter Katie Jentes each posted a team-high 11 kills.

The Terps played sensational defense, allowing the Eagles a dismal .111 hitting percentage, including a -.077 in game three. The Terps would total 15 blocks to Americanis two, including a team-high eight by senior middle hitter Jaime Summers. Hannas also led the Terps on defense with seven digs and added five blocks. Freshman setter Libby Alberts totaled 32 assists.

The three-game win marked the Terpsi first of the season to go along with their season-high .344. With the win, Maryland improves to 7-5 overall. American falls to 13-3. Maryland also extended its home-match-winning streak to 20 matches.

Maryland resumes ACC action this weekend, hosting Georgia Tech on Friday and league-leader Clemson on Saturday.
