Volleyball Begins Preseason Drills

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The University of Maryland volleyball team, who made history last season after recording an undefeated regular-season record (25-0), begins preseason drills tomorrow. The team's first practice is scheduled from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Ritchie Coliseum.
Maryland returns three starters from last year's 27-2 squad, including first team All-ACC selection Jaime Summers.
Maryland begins its 1998 schedule on Friday, Sept. 4 at the Georgetown Invitational where the Terps will meet Big 10 power Michigan at noon. The Terps will then meet Temple at noon and Georgetown at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
Maryland will play host to this year's Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament which will be held Nov. 20-22 at Ritchie Coliseum.
