COLLEGE PARK, Md. - University of Maryland field hockey All-America Carla Tagliente took a break from preseason practice to answer questions ranging from her favorite song to what she likes to do during her free time.
Tagliente is a returning All-America first-team selection who helped lead the Terps to the 1998 Atlantic Coast Conference championship and into the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Tournament. She scored a team-leading 17 goals and totaled a team-leading 41 points. In only two years in College Park, she has totaled 36 career goals and is tied for seventh on Maryland's all-time goal scoring list.

A1. What summer with no hockey? I have had a great time competing internationally and am looking forward to this season at Maryland.

A6. My teammates and the friendships I have been able to develop

A7. Winning the ACC Championship in 1998.

A8. I enjoy kayaking, squash and vacations.
Q9. What is your greatest sports moment?
A9. Scoring a goal in the 1999 Pan American Tournament against Argentina with three seconds remaining before halftime.

A10. Any member of the U.S. women's world cup soccer team.

A11. I would like to come back as an athlete in the 3,000 Olympics.

A12. My favorite foreign city is Adelaide, Australia.
