Maryland, NC State Play To Scoreless Tie In ACC Opener

RALEIGH, N.C. - Junior tri-captain Ali Wolff (Richmond, Va.) made a season-high 10 saves as Maryland and NC State played to a scoreless tie in women's soccer in the ACC season opener for both teams on Saturday. The whitewash was the eighth solo shutout in Wolff's three-year career at Maryland. The Terps are now 2-4-1 overall and NC State is now 3-2-1.

The game was moved to Saturday after Hurricane Floyd blew through North Carolina, it was originally scheduled for Friday, Sept. 17.

The Wolfpack outshot Maryland 18-15 over the 120 minutes and were whistled for 15 fouls while the Terps were called for 14 fouls.

NC State's goalie Jessica Glazer made seven saves to also earn a shutout.

Maryland continues its road trip on Tobacco Road as the Terps take on No. 9 Duke on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Terps return home to face No. 13 James Madison on Sunday, Sept. 26 at 2 p.m.
