
Four Terps Named To Terrapin Invitational All-Tournament Team

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Juniors Lindsay Gorewitz (Rockville, Md.), Molly Kauffman (West Lawn, Pa.) Rachel Hiskins (Victoria, Australia) and sophomore Kristy Palchinsky (Leonardtown, Md.) were named to the Terrapin Field Hockey Invitational all-tournament team it was announced at the conclusion of the tournament Sunday.
The Terps claimed the tournament championship with two victories: 13-1 over Georgetown on Saturday and 7-2 over Ball State on Sunday. Maryland has claimed four consecutive Terrapin Invitational championships and has a perfect record of 8-0 in the history of the invitational.
Gorewitz and Kauffman led the Maryland defensive charge that held two opponents to a total of three goals. During Sunday's championship game the pair limited Ball State's Sally Northcroft to two goals on two shots. Northcroft was held without a shot in the second half. She had scored a school-record seven goals in the Cardinals victory over American on Saturday.
Palchinsky and Hiskins led the offensive charge with netted 20 goals and 21 assists for 61 total points in two games. Palchinsky scored the game-winning goal against Ball State and totaled three goals during the two-day affair. Hiskins totaled two goals and five assists for nine total points.
