Maryland Women's Gymnastics Team Defeats Southern Utah

CEDAR CITY, Utah - Maryland sophomore Gillian Cote (Fredericksburg, Va.) took first place in the all-around with a score of 39.025 as the No. 6 Maryland women's gymnastics team defeated Southern Utah University 192.925-192.575 Monday night. Maryland is currently 2-3 overall and 1-0 in the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL).
Cote tied with Maryland sophomore Laura Moon (Scottsdale Ariz.) for first place in vault and floor before winning the all-around with a score of 39.025. Cote also finished second on bars with a 9.775 and tied with Southern Utah's Heather Slack for second on beam with a 9.725.
SUU freshman Jayme Morgan took first place on beam with a 9.750. SUU was also the victor on bars with Erica Burk scoring a 9.825 to earn first.
The Terrapins will return home to College Park for their next meet on Jan. 28 when they take on Radford at 7:00 p.m. in Ritchie Coliseum.
