Ask A Player!!
Here's the first installment of "umterps.com Ask A Player" with the Maryland women's soccer team. If you would like to ask a question look for the link under the features section.
The Terps were very enthusiastic about answer user questions.
User Ranika Marshall of Landover Hills, Md. for Terp Valerie Lawrence: How old were you when you started playing and do you have any words of advice for me?
Sophomore defender Valerie Lawrence: It's nice to hear you have such a strong passion for soccer. I was five years old when I began to play soccer and I still love it. I think that the most important advice I can give you is to enjoy the sport. If you are having fun, the bond created between you and your teammates is incredible! Keep working hard and hope to see you soon.
User Ashley Horn of Baltimore, Md. for Terp Jen Biscoe: How is your knee doing? When will you be ready to play again? Good luck with the knee rehab.
Freshman midfielder Jen Biscoe: I had my surgery to repair my torn ACL on Sept. 22 and my knee is doing better. Rehab is slow but is coming along nicely. Hopefully I will be back and ready to play in the spring.
User Maureen McDonough of Charlotte, N.C. for Terp Julie Nelson: Why do you were a string around your head when you play? Does it keep your hair out of your face or are you trying to look like Brian McBride?
Senior forward Julie Nelson: Well, if you had seen any games this year, you would have noticed I have changed my hair style. But since you are so busy over there in Greensboro, oops, I mean Wilmington, I guess you haven't had time to see your old girl play ... and I mean old! Love you, see you this week.
User David Gustafson of Houston, Texas for Terp Sara Gustafson: What do you focus on mostly before each one of your games?
Junior forward Sara Gustafson: I focus on anything but soccer believe it or not. I play my best when I don't think about the game.
User Angela Galt of Silver Spring, Md. for Valerie Lawrence: Are you having a fun time this season? I miss you.
Sophomore defender Valerie Lawrence: Yes, I am having a lot of fun this season. I hope you are having a great time at Brown. I miss you too. I'll talk to you soon, I can't wait until you come home.
