Women's Volleyball Comes Up Short At Wake Forest

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- The University of Maryland women's volleyball team dropped its final regular season match tonight to Wake Forest (1-3) 11-15, 16-14, 3-15, 9-15, in Winston-Salem. The Terrapins (13-15, 4-12 ACC) will be seeded eighth at next week's ACC Tournament at Wake Forest.
Senior middle hitter Nnenna Amobi (Silver Spring, Md.) led the Maryland attack with 19 kills and five blocks. Junior middle hitter Willette Dority (Congers, N.Y.), who missed the first part of the season with a back injury, slammed a career-high 14 kills along with a personal-best nine digs for the Terps. Sophomore outside hitter Carey Brennan (Smithsburg, Md.) was stellar defensively, recording a career-high 22 digs.
The 2000 ACC Tournament begins Thursday, Nov. 16 through Sunday, Nov. 19. Seeding has yet to be determined.
