Five Terrapins Named 2000 ECAC Field Hockey All-Stars

CENTERVILLE, Mass. - Five Terrapin field hockey players were named 2000 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) All-Stars, announced December 6. Seniors Rachel Hiskins (Victoria, Australia), Keli Smith (Selinsgrove, Pa.) and Carla Tagliente (Cortland, N.Y.) and juniors Caroline Walter (Reilingen, Germany) and Autumn Welsh (Macungie, Pa.) were all named to the first team, as voted by ECAC Division I coaches. The awards represent the first time the ECAC has selected a postseason field hockey team.

The accolades are the fourth-such season honors for Hiskins, Smith, Tagliente, Walter and Welsh. Hiskins, Smith and Tagliente were tabbed first team All-Americans, while Walter and Welsh earned second team honors. All five were first team All Mid-Atlantic Region selections and All-ACC honorees as well.

Princeton's Hilary Matson was chosen Player of the Year.
