
Carey Brennan Named ACC Volleyball Player Of The Week

GREENSBORO, N.C.- Junior outside hitter Carey Brennan (Smithsburg, Md.) has been named ACC volleyball player of the week. Brennan led Maryland to its first two ACC victories of the season last week over Virginia and Florida State.
On the week, Brennan recorded 37 kills and 27 digs and posted a double-double in each match to lead the Terps. Both matches required five games with Brennan averaging 3.70 kills, 2.70 digs, 0.40 blocks per game. Brennan leads the team in double-doubles on the year with five while also ranking first in digs (111) and second in kills (133).
Brennan had her best match of the season against the Seminoles when she tallied 20 kills, 14 digs, three blocks and a .357 hitting percentage. It is the first time in her career that she has earned player of the week honors and is the first Maryland player since Maren Stuart won the award for the week of Nov. 1-7, 1999.
