
Women's Golf Holds 6th Place At The Lady Pirate Invitational

Greenville, S.C. - After the first and second rounds of play at the Lady Pirate Fall Invitational in Greenville, N.C., the Terrapin women's golf team is in sixth place, with sophomore Marie Harper (West Point, Va.) and junior Carter Crowther (Kilmarnock, Va.) leading the team in 10th and 14th places, respectively.
The five-member team shot a combined 636, six strokes shy of fifth-place William and Mary, and 27 strokes behind the leader and host of the tournament, East Carolina University. The Terrapins faced ECU earlier this season in the Unlimited Potential/Baytree Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Harper carded a 78 in the first round (+7) and a 76 (+5) in the second. Crowther ended the day shooting a 76 (+5) in the second round of play, leaving her one stroke off her career best round of 75 and within two strokes of finishing in the top 10.
Freshman Kristen Shew (Hockessin, Del.) and junior Katie Redeker (Pepper Pike, Oh) turned in solid performances for the Terps finishing the day in 33rd and 43rd places, with Shew carding 80-82-162 and Redeker carding 82-82-164.
The second day of action will be Tuesday at the Greenville Country Club (6,450 yards, par 71).
