Women's Golf Finishes Fifth in Lady Pirate Fall Intercollegiate

Greenville, N.C. - Junior Carter Crowther (Kilmarnock, Va.), led the Terrapin women's golf team to a fifth place finish in the two-day Lady Pirate Fall Intercollegiate in Greenville, N.C. today by carding a third round 74 and finishing in eighth place, the first top 10 finish of her career on the par 71, 5,850 yard course.
The team, consisting of Crowther, junior Erin Clasper (North Potomac, Md.), sophomore Marie Harper (West Point, Va.), sophomore Katie Redeker (Pepper Pike, Oh.) and freshman Kristen Shew (Hockessin, Del.), shot a combined 395, helping to vault the team over William and Mary for their second top 10 finish of the fall.
The terrapins consistently improved their team total scores round to round 320-316-307. Crowther's third round 74 (+3) is the best round of her career and left her in eighth place, the first top 10 finish of her career. Kristen Shew's third round 77 is the best of her college career. Erin Clasper carded a third round 79, a nine-stroke improvement on her second round 88.
Three Terps finished the tournament in the top 25: Marie Harper in 13th place (78-76-77-231), and Kristen Shew in 25th place (80-82-77-239).
The Terps will compete in the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate in Kiawah Island, S.C. on Nov. 5-6 for their last tournament of the fall.
