Women's Golf Improves Five Spots After Round Two

Greenville, N.C. -- The Maryland women's golf team improved five spots after two rounds of competition in the Bradford Creek Invitational, hosted by East Carolina University. The Terps shot a team total of 322 in the second round, and are in seventh place with a combined two-day total of 644. Freshman Marie Harper (West Point, Va.) continues to lead for Maryland as she is in a tie for nineteenth place individually.
The Terps duplicated their exact score from the first round with three golfers -- freshman Katie Redeker (Pepper Pike, Ohio.), Kara Gropler (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) and Harper -- all shooting rounds of 80 (+8).
Colorado State carded a 319 through the second round to continue to lead the tournament with a total of 620 (301-319) on the par-72, 6,093-yard Bradford Creek Golf Course. UNC-Wilmington follows in close second with a two-round total of 626 (315-311) while James Madison University stands in third with a two-round total of 627 (314-313).
The final round of competition will resume tomorrow morning, March 6th. Players are scheduled to tee-off at 9:30 a.m.
