Maryland Volleyball Players Report For Preseason Camp

Aug. 9, 2001

COLLEGE PARK, Md.- Maryland volleyball coach Janice Kruger begins her 14th season as coach of the Terrapins today when preseason camp begins for the upcoming season. The Terps return 10 letterwinners including four starters as well as welcoming six freshmen to College Park for the 2001 campaign.

"I expect preseason camp to be very exciting," commented Kruger. "We have a hardworking group of veterans and six freshmen who are eager to challenge for some playing time."

Camp gets going in full swing Friday when the team will undergo mandatory physicals from team doctors and then begin their first day of practice. The Terps then have 11 days of practice before the team's Red & White scrimmage Aug. 25 beginning at 10 a.m. in Ritchie Coliseum.

Kruger, who is just three wins shy of 250 for her career at Maryland, will get her first opportunity to guide the Terrapins to victory Aug. 31 at Indiana in the Hoosier Invitational. Non-conference tilts with Tennessee and Bowling Green complete the opening weekend of play in the Hoosier Invitational.
