Women's Golf In 11th Place After First Round Of Dodge ACC/SEC Invitational

Destin, Fla. - Maryland women's golf is in 11th place after one round of play in the Dodge ACC/SEC Invitational in Destin, Fla. Junior Carter Crowther (Kilmarnock, Va.) is tied for 27th of the 60 participating golfers.
The five-member team consisting of junior Carter Crowther (Kilmarnock, Va.), sophomores Katie Redeker (Pepper Pike, Ohio), Marie Harper (West Point, Va.), freshman Kristen Shew (Hockessin, Del.) and sophomore Stacey Wolejko (Hatfield, Ma.), carded a combined 334 (+66) in the 11-team tournament, 40 strokes behind the leader, University of Florida. This is the Terps' first appearance in the Dodge ACC/SEC Invitational.
On the front nine, Harper, who is tied for 50th, was leading the team by carding a 38. On the back nine, the Terps noticeably suffered, adding between four and nine strokes to their scores, with the exception of Crowther who shot a 38, and Redeker, who finished the day tied for 46th after firing a 42.
The second round will begin Saturday morning on the par 71, 5,937-yard Raven Course at the Sandestin Resort.
