COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Terrapin fans from Maryland to Munich can catch up on all of the Terrapin field hockey news live on the Internet this Thursday afternoon. The fourth edition of the Missy Meharg Radio Show airs at 5:15 p.m. EST on Thursday, Oct. 24, at www.wmucsports.com, home of the University of Maryland's sports-only radio station.
Join WMUC's finest, Danny Cole and Robin Lundberg, as they break down the field hockey action with four time ACC and national coach of the year Meharg. Thursday's special guest is freshman defensive back Lauren Powley (Mountaintop, Pa.).
Missy Meharg is Maryland's all-time winningest field hockey coach and the mentor of two national championship squads and five conference title-winning teams. She has coached 57 All-Americans, 82 NFHCA Academic Squad selections, 11 U.S. National Team members and one Honda Award winner. Meharg is a member of the State and University Sports Halls of Fame in her home state of Delaware.
A true freshman, Powley is one of ten newcomers on a 2002 Terp squad that has surprised many on the national scene with a 13-2, 2-1 ACC record. A two-time high school All-American, Powley has stepped into a starting role as a freshman and has been a key to the Terrapins' top-rated backfield.
