COLLEGE PARK, Md.-
The Terps will travel to Clemson and Atlanta this weekend to take on the Clemson Tigers Friday and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Saturday.
Senior Carey Brennan has posted 78 kills in the past five matches, including 25 against Wake Forest on October 5th. Brennan now has three 20+-kill matches this season, the other two coming against George Mason and Denver.
Lynssy Jones will try and duplicate her performance against the Clemson Tigers this weekend, when Maryland visits the Tigers Friday night. In the last match against Clemson on September 28th, Jones had 24 kills, two service aces, and six block assists in a five-game loss.
In last weekend's match against NC State, freshman Rachel Wagener took the team lead in solo blocks with 12, and is inching up on senior Amanda Ayres for the team lead in blocks per game. Wagener's four total blocks in two games against the Wolfpack upped her average to .90 blocks per game, just .01 behind Ayres.
Sarah Treadwell has been strong the past three matches with a .394 hitting percentage, 22 kills and just three errors. Treadwell ranks second on the team with 11 solo blocks, and 62 total blocks.
Lynssy Jones' 4.51 kills per game average ranks her among the tops in the ACC in that category. Georgia Tech's Lynnette Moster leads the ACC with 5.48.
The Terps, already with 14 wins this season, have surpassed their total number of victories last year. Their non-conference record of 11-4 is a big improvement over last season's 5-5 non-conference record.
