Oct. 25, 2002

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Dominating every aspect of the match, Maryland outlasted Clemson three games to two in Clemson, South Carolina.

Offensively Lynssy Jones led all hitters with 29 kills and tallied a .339 hitting percentage, while Carey Brennan wasn't far behind with her 26 kills, and match high .490 hitting percentage. Both Jones and Brennan were set up by senior setter Lindsey Davey who came up just shy of her personal record for sets, posting 70 along with 13 digs, and two service aces.

From the service line, is where the Terps dominated most. Maryland had seven service aces compared to Clemson's two. Jones led the Maryland charge with three service aces, and was backed up by Davey's two.

Defensively, Stephanie Smith led the way for the Terps. She had eight blocks, including four solo ones to help push the Terps to the five-game victory.

After a tough five-game loss earlier in the year, Maryland rebounded to beat Clemson 30-21, 28-30, 25-30, 30-20, 15-10, Friday night. Clemson fell to 4-5 in the conference, and 13-11 overall.
