Final Stats

Maryland senior Carey Brennan blasted 22 kills without an error on Tuesday night to lead the Terrapin volleyball team to a 3-0 win over Wake Forest at Ritchie Coliseum. Brennan, while recording her sixth 20-kill match of the season, also led the Terps with 15 digs in the 74-minute match.

Maryland (16-10, 5-6 ACC) blitzed the Demon Deacon by game scores of 30-21, 30-20, 30-25. Wake Forest (11-14, 4-7 ACC) never led in the match as the Terrapins beat the Deacs for the second time this season.

Brennan paced the Terps to a quick lead after game one, delivering six kills in nine attempts at the net. As a team, Maryland hit .405 in the first frame and .316 overall. Brennan, who had eight kills in 13 attempts in the second game, hit for a remarkable .615 percentage for the match.

In game two, Maryland broke open a 10-10 tie to lead 23-13. Setter Lindsay Davey's dump shot over the net ended the game. For the match, Davey set up 51 of the Terps' 60 total kills.

In the final game, Maryland boasted its largest lead at 25-18, and Wake drew within three points at 26-23. But back-to-back kills by Jennifer Dewalt posted the Terps to a 28-23 lead. Another Dewalt kill made it 29, and following a serve error by Lynnsy Jones, Dewalt made it four straight to close the match.

Maryland continues a three-game homestand this weekend with a pair of matches at 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, the Terps host Florida State. On Sunday, they entertain Duke.
