
Maryland To Host NCAA Women's Soccer First & Second Rounds

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland women's soccer team will host the first and second of the 2002 NCAA Women's Soccer College Cup. The Terps (12-7-1) will take on American (10-8-2) in the second of two first round matches at Ludwig Field. That game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
The opening game of the bracket in College Park pits Big Ten regular-season champion Penn State (15-3-1) against Ivy League champion Princeton (13-2-1). That match will begin at 5 p.m.
The winner of the matches on Friday will meet in the second round on Sunday at 1 p.m..
The Terps, which will appear in their seventh NCAA Tournament in eight years, have not faced American since 1993, when they beat the Eagles, 1-0. All-time Maryland has a 3-0-1 record vs. American.
Tickets are now on sale by calling the Terrapin Ticket Office at 301-314-7070. Tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for children.
