
Maryland Defeats NC State In Three Games

The Maryland Terrapins shutout the NC State Wolfpack in Raliegh, N.C. by a score of 30-19, 30-28, 30-19 in just 85 minutes Tuesday night.
The Terps were led by senior Carey Brennan and freshman Sarah Treadwell. Brennan finished the match with a 11 kills and 13 digs, while Treadwell led all hitters with a match-high .588 hitting percentage. To go along with her 17 kills and 13 digs, Brennan also had a solo block. Treadwell turned in 10 kills, and 12 digs to join Brennan as the only two players to post double-doubles. Treadwell also had two block assists. Junior Lynnsy Jones scored a match-high 17 kills as well as a service ace, and four digs.
In game one the Terps hit a combined .515 on their way to a match total of .328. The Terps blocking game helped force the Wolfpack into 21 errors and just 37 kills in a match where they hit just .130 as a team. The Wolfpack were led by Maya Mapp who was the only NC State player to record double-digit kills. Her 11 kills, .333 hitting percentage and two service aces all led the Wolfpack.
Maryland streaked to its seventh ACC victory, matching the number they recorded last season. At 7-8 in the ACC and 18-12 overall, the Terps will conclude their regular season with a match against ACC foe North Carolina Sunday at 7:00 p.m. in Chapel Hill. The Wolfpack dropped to 0-14 in the ACC and 3-29 overall.
