Terps Sign Three Recruits To National Letters Of Intent

Nov. 25, 2002

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland women's golf coach Jason Rodenhaver announced the signing of three high school seniors to National Letters of Intent for the 2003-04 season.

The three recruits who have signed with the Terrapins are Kelly MacWhinnie from Upper St. Clair High School in Pittsburgh, Pa., Jessica Reno from St. Mark's High School in Wilmington, Del., and Katie Stepanek from Guilford High School in Guilford, Conn.

"I am very happy with this class. I think they will be a good fit at Maryland," Rodenhaver said. "They are good students and good players, and I think they will fit right in and play right away and take the place of the seniors who are leaving."

Team captain Erin Clasper (North Potomac, Md.), Carter Crowther (Kilmarnock, Va.), Jennifer Gibson (Havertown, Pa.) and Holly Thornton (Delran, N.J.) comprise the Terps' first full four-year senior class. All four have been with the Terrapins since the program's inception in 1999 and will graduate after the season.
