Terps to Face UNCG, ECU in Edwin Watts/Carolina's Invitiational

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland women's golf team travels to Southern Pines, S.C., to participate in the College of Charleston's Edwin Watts/Carolina's Invitational.

The Terps will face five of the top 11 teams from the fall tournamet also hosted by the College Of Charleston, including UNC Greensboro, Memphis, Jacksonville, College of Charleston and Georgia State. However, the field does include several teams that the Terps have faced and been victorious against in tournaments, including James Madison, Wofford, East Carolina, Radford, Elon and Kansas. "I believe everyone is anxious to get on the road again," said third year Head Coach Jason Rodenhaver. "We will be playing against a strong field so all we can do is tee it up and se ehow we stack up at the end of the week."

At the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate, Nov. 5-6, the team ended the fall season with a solid finish. Junior Carter Crowther (Kilmarnock, Va.) finished the tournament with a final round of 75 (+3) and sophomores Marie Harper (West Point,Va.) and Katie Redeker (Pepper Pike, Ohio) carded a 77(+5) in one round of the tournament. The Terps finished in 12th place, 17 strokes away from a top finish.

Joining Crowther, Harper and Redeker will be junior Erin Clasper (Rockville, Md.) and freshman Kristen Shew (Hockessin, Del.) Clasper attended two of the four fall tournaments while Shew attended all four with Harper and Redeker. Clasper's best round in the fall was a 77 (Unlimited Potential/Bay Tree Classic), as was Shew's (Lady Pirate Fall Intercollegiate.)

The fall season was a successful one both individually and for the team. The Terps finished in the top 10 twice as a team and Crowther and Redeker each finished in the top 10 once.
