Women's Golf Finishes Lady Duke Invitational in 5th Place

HARRISONBURG, Va. - University of Maryland posted its second top-five finish of the season on Sunday, finishing fifth at the Lady Dukes Invitational here at the Lakeview Golf Club. Penn State University secured first place with a two-day team total of 611, 21 shots ahead of runner-up James Madison University. The Terps had a team total of 639.
Individually, junior Erin Clasper (North Potomac, Md.) finished tied for ninth (76-78--154), while sophomore Marie Harper (West Point, Va.) secured her first top 20 finish (13th) of the season by carding a total of 157.
Rounding out Maryland's team scoring were sophomore Katie Redeker (Pepper Pike, Ohio) who finised tied for 30th (80-85--165), freshman Kristen Shew (Hockessin, Del.), who tied for 42nd with teammate Carter Crowther (Kilmarnock, Va.). Both had two-day totals of 167. Sophomore Stacey Wolejko (Hatfield, Mass.), competing as an individual, finished tied for 27th.
Penn State's Katie Futcher claimed the individual title.
